Based on activity theory, I conducted a rhetorical analysis of the Michigan Fishing Guide. I studied the guide as a rhetorical genre, and then analyzed the usability of the guide for resident and non-resident anglers.
The guide is a tool within the Michigan Angling activity systemA significant portion of the guide is dedicated to Salmon and Trout fishing
This portion of the document contains various usability issues and discrepanciesThe guide contains conflicting and confusing terminology
The Michigan Fishing Guide fulfills the purpose of its genre, but the terminology, structure, and organization need revisingThe document might work best if the Trout and Salmon regulations existed as a separate document
